Catch all, to functional

NO these pictures are not photo shopped and we didn't add things to this room to make it look worse; this was the most challenging but rewarding organization project to date. This room was a catch all, throw things in when people come over, storage, you name it. This room was in for a MAJOR redesign/organization project.
We gutted the entire room, carpet and all!
We repainted and put in a commercial carpet because this room is the walkway from the garage into the house, so it will see a lot of foot traffic.
One corner of the room became the drop zone (also mentioned in a previous post in greater detail)

And the other side of the room became this masterpiece! A wall of lockers (is what we named them). A locker for every member of the family (with room to spare) for their bags/backpacks, papers and anything else they wanted neatly tucked away. The kids were really excited to have their own space, away from younger siblings, all neat and safe. Later we cut each child's name out in vinyl and labeled their locker, and added a few trays to help organize papers. Every member of the family was more than happy with the end result!

The Drop Spot

Here is an example of our designed "Drop Spot". Perfect for a family on the go! There is a basket for each child to drop their notebook everyday for Mom to go through. Then trays for papers for Dad, Mom, weekly shopping adds, and paper supplies. There is a home for supplies, shoes, bags, even the dirty socks! Stapler, pens, calendar, you name it, all centralized in one easily accessible location!

Bedroom Closet

Here is a 5 foot by 5 foot bedroom closet.
Not only were we able to create MORE space, but now there is a home for everything!
